Meet Edward Clinton

Edward was also known as Eddie or Ed Clinton. He was born on the 17th of February 1878 in Steele, Daviess County, Indiana. His parents were Samuel Clinton and Arnetta Chestnut. Both of his parents were also born in Indiana and were married in 1874. Eddie was one of eight children and the son of a farmer. He continued that occupation and also became a farmer in Indiana. He married Essie Mae Stewart also from Daviess County, Indiana on the 8th of August in 1897 in Daviess County, Indiana.

Edward and Essie Mae had seven children four sons and three daughters, four born in Indiana and three in Missouri. He passed away on the 4th of February in 1970 in Illinois thirteen years after the death of his wife, Essie Mae. Edward is my maternal great grandfather, I don’t remember much of him only what I have in photographs.
